Responsibilities & Qualifications

ImageFIRST is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Governance and Master Data Management (MDM) to lead and evolve our enterprise data strategy. This senior-level role is responsible for developing and executing scalable governance frameworks and MDM programs that drive consistency, trust, and business alignment across all critical data domains. You will lead a cross-functional effort to standardize data processes, improve data quality, and enable reliable analytics across the organization.

You will serve as the central leader for MDM strategy, while also collaborating closely with IT, analytics, and business stakeholders to ensure that data supports operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, and business transformation. This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape a critical capability in a growing, data-forward organization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Framework Development

  • Lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide data governance and master data strategy.
  • Establish and operationalize standards, processes, and ownership models for master data across business domains (e.g., customer, vendor, product, location).
  • Collaborate with executive and business leaders to align data priorities with organizational goals and digital transformation initiatives.

Master Data Management Implementation

  • Oversee implementation and optimization of MDM platforms and supporting technologies (e.g., Informatica, Oracle Fusion, SQL, DataBricks).
  • Define data models, hierarchies, and metadata standards that support scalability and cross-functional integration.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of master data across ERP, CRM, and operational platforms.

Data Quality & Process Improvement

  • Define and track data quality KPIs; lead remediation strategies for completeness, consistency, and reliability of master data.
  • Implement automated data cleansing, validation, and transformation processes to support continuous data improvement.
  • Drive data stewardship programs across departments to ensure accountability and collaboration on data quality and standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Change Enablement

  • Act as the enterprise lead for MDM and governance initiatives, working closely with IT, analytics, finance, operations, and commercial teams.
  • Facilitate business involvement in governance councils, ensuring alignment of business requirements with technical solutions.
  • Support business users with training and enablement programs related to MDM tools, data workflows, and governance practices.

Innovation & Advancement

  • Evaluate and implement new MDM technologies, platforms, and automation capabilities that improve performance and usability.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in data governance and MDM to inform long-term strategy.
  • Lead change management efforts to embed data governance principles across teams and functions.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in data governance, MDM, or enterprise data management roles, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven success in implementing enterprise MDM strategies and governance frameworks.
  • Strong technical experience in SQL, Python, and integration tools such as Informatica, Talend, or SSIS.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Oracle Fusion or SAP and the integration of master data across departments.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a track record of influencing cross-functional stakeholders.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with enterprise MDM platforms (e.g., Informatica MDM, SAP MDM, IBM InfoSphere).
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA) and security best practices.
  • Certifications in Data Management or Data Governance (CDMP, CIMP).
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics, AI/ML, and automation tools for data management.
  • Project management experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.
