Responsibilities & Qualifications

Due to significant growth, we are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team at our Headquarters in King of Prussia, PA. The Accounting Manager reports to the Director of Field Accounting, helps to manage the field accounting team, and works closely with the corporate accounting team and the financial, planning & analysis team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, building and maintaining a strong financial team, preparing and recording journal entries, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, analyzing financial statements, recording cash activity and preparing bank reconciliations, and other special projects assigned.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure that there is a process backup in place for every critical operation.
  • Implement and maintain internal corporate accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP.
  • Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule ensuring compliance with accounting policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Interact regularly with local/regional operational leadership to ensure they understand the financial impact of their operational decisions.
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to support financial operations and provide guidance on accounting matters. Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other functions to drive process improvements across the organization including payroll, billing, taxes, reporting, etc.
  • Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and assess financial performance, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights to management for informed decision-making.
  • Preparation of financial and profitability analysis as needed or requested.
  • Support coordination of annual audit with VP Finance - Corporate Controller.
  • Assist in the management of field accounting group activities by monitoring and analyzing department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Assist local management teams in weekly & monthly forecasting as necessary.
  • Assist with annual and quarterly budgets, forecasts, and reports, including profits/losses by business unit.
  • Track data and compile internal reports on assets, liabilities, and expenses.
  • Other relevant tasks as deemed necessary by the Director of Field Accounting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • 10-12 years of experience in accounting
  • 5+ years of experience in an accounting leadership/management role
  • Oracle experience preferred
  • SmartView experience preferred
  • Public accounting experience and a CPA required
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills
  • Proficient in finance, accounting, and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including VLOOKUPS, SUMIFS, and Pivot tables
  • Knowledge of basic cost accounting principles a plus
  • Financial statement consolidations experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate details of financial information to non-financial users
  • Goal-oriented to flourish in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and with a team including various levels of management
  • Be detail-oriented, have a professional attitude, take pride in accuracy of work, and be reliable
  • Possess strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
