We’re seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Payroll Operations Manager to lead our payroll operations, ensuring flawless execution, compliance, and continuous improvement. You’ll oversee a team partnering with HR and Finance to deliver accurate, timely payroll while staying ahead of regulatory changes. We’re seeking a hands-on, strategic payroll leader to own and elevate our end-to-end payroll operations. This individual will ensure accurate and compliant processing across a multi-state footprint while driving process optimization and enabling business growth. As a key liaison between Payroll, HR, and Finance, you’ll blend operational excellence with leadership finesse—mentoring a high-performing team, championing cross-functional initiatives, and guiding compliance with evolving regulations.
Payroll Operations & Compliance
Manage all payroll functions, ensuring accurate and timely execution of salaries, benefits, garnishments, and deductions
Oversee system audits and optimizations in Dayforce to streamline workflows and improve reporting
Serve as subject matter expert on payroll tax filings, wage and hour laws, and regulatory compliance (FLSA, IRS, DOL, etc.)
Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of five payroll professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and growth
Oversee daily operations, assign priorities, and ensure timely resolution of issues and escalations
Establish clear goals, support professional development, and model a collaborative leadership style
Strategic Collaboration & Impact
Partner with HR, Finance, and IT to support integrations, upgrades, audits, and policy alignment
Analyze payroll data to identify trends, risks, and cost-saving opportunities
Contribute to cross-functional initiatives, including M&A support and system enhancements
5–10 years of progressive payroll leadership experience
In-depth knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and compliance standards
Expertise in Dayforce (or similar payroll platforms) and advanced Excel/reporting capabilities
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field
CPP certification is a strong plus
