Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) supports the General Manager in leading all aspects of the business, including Operations, Sales, Service, and Administration. This role is responsible for executing business plans, developing team capabilities, and ensuring high performance across all departments. The AGM plays a critical role in driving safety, productivity, maintaining compliance, improving customer satisfaction, and identifying opportunities for growth and operational improvement.

Key Responsibilities

The AGM will deliver results across the following key areas:

  1. Compliance, Safety & Regulatory Oversight
    • Ensure compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure adherence to financial, legal, and operational compliance standards.
    • Oversee training programs to ensure all associates are properly trained and certified.
    • Promote a strong culture of safety, security, and continuous self-development. 
  1. Building Effective Teams & Team Accountability
    • Lead deployment of ImageFIRST Operating System within geography to drive consistency across functions and platforms.
    • Lead, recruit, and develop a high-performing team across all departments.
    • Drive associate engagement, retention, and succession planning initiatives.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
    • Utilize effective leadership practices, including regular associate engagement and rounding.
    • Support an empowered self-directed team environment.
  1. Financial Management & Strategic Planning
    • Achieve financial commitments for profitability within geography.
    • Develop forecasts and communicate performance trends to regional and divisional leadership.
    • Manage financial performance including revenue, expenses, and profitability.
    • Identify and implement strategies to optimize financial results and productivity.
    • Monitor key financial metrics and adjust operations to meet business objectives
  1. Operational Excellence & Performance Management
    • Manage departmental productivity and ensure performance expectations are met or exceeded. Ensure efficient processing and delivery of cloth products while maintaining high quality standards.
    • Translate corporate strategy into front-line operational tactics.
    • Conduct operational audits to identify opportunities to improve productivity and performance.
    • Champion and support TRP performance management process including coaching and development activities to continuously build and enhance pipeline and plant performance.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Service, Production, and Administrative Departments.
    • Monitor and drive key performance metrics related to sales, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
    • Ensure superior performance in both associate engagement and customer satisfaction.
  1. Customer Relations & Business Development
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
    • Interface with client executives, including C-suite and regional leadership.
    • Identify opportunities to introduce new products and services to drive growth and retention.
    • Lead contract negotiations and renegotiations with clients.
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term partnership success.
  1. Continuous Improvement & Growth
    • Drive partnership, alignment, and performance with Sales counterparts within geography and national accounts.
    • Identify opportunities to expand accounts and grow business within the district.
    • Drive innovation and process improvements to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
    • Align operational strategies with long-term business goals and market opportunities.
  1. Business Execution & Strategy
    • Execute the location’s business plan and clearly communicate objectives to all departments.
    • Support Route Sales, Service, Production, and Administrative Departments to ensure alignment with company goals.
    • Analyze market trends and changes and take appropriate action to drive business performance.
    • Identify sales opportunities and support growth, retention, and profitability initiatives.
  1. Administrative & Office Management
    • Oversee office and clerical functions, including invoice reconciliation, invoice printing, and report monitoring.
    • Ensure accurate database management and data integrity.
    • Utilize reporting tools to track performance and support decision-making.
  2. Continuous Improvement & Initiative
    • Drive process improvements using data, insights, and best practices.
    • Support Lean and operational efficiency initiatives where applicable.
    • Demonstrate initiative by identifying opportunities to improve performance and exceed expectations.
