We’re seeking a strategic, hands-on Payroll leader to own and optimize our end-to-end payroll operations. In this role, you’ll ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across a multi-state footprint while championing process improvements to support our growth. As a key partner to HR and Finance, you’ll combine operational excellence with strong leadership—mentoring a high-performing team, driving cross-functional initiatives, and staying ahead of evolving payroll regulations
Manage all payroll activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of wages, benefits, garnishments, and deductions.
Lead system audits and workflow optimizations within Dayforce (or similar platforms) to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Serve as the subject matter expert on payroll tax compliance, wage and hour laws, and regulatory standards (FLSA, IRS, DOL, etc.).
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of five payroll professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Oversee day-to-day team operations, prioritize tasks, and ensure effective resolution of issues and escalations.
Set clear goals and expectations while modeling a collaborative and supportive leadership style.
Partner cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and IT to align policies, support audits, and implement system integrations and enhancements.
Analyze payroll data to surface trends, flag potential risks, and identify cost-efficiency opportunities.
Play an active role in broader business initiatives, including M&A support, policy design, and strategic planning.
5–10 years of progressive payroll leadership experience in a multi-state environment.
Deep understanding of payroll compliance, tax filings, and regulatory frameworks.
Expertise with Dayforce (or a similar platform) and strong skills in Excel and data reporting.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
CPP certification strongly preferred.
